Everett Garver-Daniels, 7, helps his mother, Tessa Garver-Daniels, collect the necessary donated materials to participate in the Sprout into Spring event sponsored by the Our Town downtown decorating committee.
ELKINS Progress is being made on the decorations for Sprout into Spring, a new event being organized by by the same Our Town, Inc. volunteers who brought the scarecrow event and the gnomes to downtown Elkins in 2020.
The project will decorate Elkins with wooden flowers that can be painted and decorated by each participant in order to welcome spring to the community.
Art instructor Tessa Garver-Daniels will be taking the large cut-out flowers and stems to her classes at Elkins Middle School and Davis & Elkins College to have students design and paint them for the display throughout downtown Elkins.
