Preserve the old Assembly Rooms in Trinity Street

By G. Greenwood The Old Rooms Inn - The building was originally a private home before being used as the Assembly Rooms until 1785 when a replacement was built. The Duke of Gloucester is said to have taken tea in the building during 1771. Now that the Civic Society is hopefully to take control of the sadly neglected Brewers Quay, I would recommend they also take an interest in the Old Assembly Rooms in Trinity Street opposite Hope Church. That building is of historical interest and was the Head Office of Devenish Brewery with the board room in the upper room of the building.
