BLM SEAT Base Already Making a Difference in Firefighting Efforts

ROCK SPRINGS Years of discussion about a dream to locate a Single Engine Air Tanker (SEAT) base in Rock Springs has finally become a reality. The Rock Springs Bureau of Land Management (BLM) SEAT Base, located at the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport, opened toward the end of June and they have already responded to wildland fires throughout its coverage area. The facility is located on the northwest side of the airport and is right in the middle of the general aviation facilities for the airport, Airport Director Devon Brubaker said. Airport s $7 9 Million Grant Agreement for Commercial Terminal Project Moves Forward

ROCK SPRINGS A grant for nearly $8 million for the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport’s Commercial Terminal Modernization project was unanimously approved by the Rock Springs City Council tonight. During the presentation portion of the meeting, Airport Director Devon Brubaker said the $7.9 million grant agreement is between the United States Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration and the City of Rock Springs for the commercial terminal modernization project. Brubaker said this is the second of three federal grants the airport will be receiving to complete the project. The first grant for $4.9 million was already approved and the third grant, for about $1 million, will not come until 2022 or 2023.
