It has been over 200 days that farmers have been blocking the Singhu border and other areas just outside Delhi to protest the three contentious farm laws. But even as they continue the fight to get the government back to the negotiation table, a more pressing challenge confronts them now in the form of a second and more potent Covid-19 wave.

A 28-year-old man was taken into police custody on Friday in Noida after he barged into the ongoing farmers protest at the Chilla border and called them terrorists and also questioned their agitation against Centre s farm laws.

Farmers again block Delhi-Noida Chilla border
Farmers have once again blocked the Delhi-Noida Chilla border to press for their demand to repeal the three farm laws. The road has been closed due to a sit-in demonstration by some farmers, according to reports.Â
Farmers had on Sunday vacated carriageways on the Noida-Delhi Link Road via Chilla following a meeting with Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Narendra Singh Tomar. Normal traffic resumed between Noida and Delhi via Chilla border after farmers vacated the spot they had been occupying since December 1 for their sit-in demonstration.
Meanwhile, the movement on the DND and the Kalindi Kunj routes, both connecting Delhi and Noida, was normal.
