DELMAR, Del. – Just after 5 a.m. on Sunday April 25, the Delmar Police Department was dispatched to the 11000 block of Buckingham Drive in the Yorkshire Estates Community for a report of a fight in progress. Corporal Keith Heacook answered the call, which little did he know, would result in a life altering altercation.
After the tragic incident, the community gathered for a vigil to honor Cpl.l Heacook, who is now in shock trauma with life-threatening injuries, fighting for his life. “I saw an attack on police officers, I saw an attack on humanity by the most vicious of all people that I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” says Doug Marshall, an advocate for police and the community.
