Elburn baby s death ruled a homicide THINKSTOCK Elburn police are investigating the homicide of a 2-month-old boy, authorities said. First responders arrived on the 800 block of Kindberg Court at 7:33 a.m. Friday and treated an infant who was struggling to breathe, according to a news release issued Tuesday by the Elburn Police Department. Paramedics took the baby to Delnor Hospital, and he later was transferred to Lurie Children s Hospital in Chicago, where he died Sunday night.   The Cook County medical examiner s office identified the boy as Kasen Kaitharath and ruled the cause of death as a homicide. The investigation continues, and there s no danger to the public, according to the news release.

Updated 7/17/2021 7:16 PM A St. Charles man has been charged with armed violence and reckless conduct after shooting a man in the head, authorities said. Police at 3:31 p.m. Thursday were called to an apartment in the 200 block of North Tyler Road, where they found resident Jacob W. Krueger, 22, and a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the head, according to a news release from the St. Charles Police Department.   Krueger and his guest were handling a 9 mm handgun when Krueger fired the weapon, striking the man, the news release said. After Krueger called 911, the victim was transported to Delnor Hospital and remains there in serious condition.

CHARLES, IL An Aurora man was killed and three other people were wounded early Sunday in a shooting at a nightclub in St. Charles. Police said officers responded to Trilogy, 2051 Lincoln Highway, just after 2 a.m. to find two gunshot victims on the sidewalk in front of the club. Both victims were taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where one of the victims, later identified as Khalief D. McAlister, 23, of Aurora, was pronounced dead. police said. Both underwent surgery, and one is listed in critical condition while the other is in stable condition.
