MENOMINEE COUNTY, MI The body of a hunter reported missing in Menominee County has been found.
Saturday around 3:45 p.m. sheriff’s deputies responded to a location about a mile north of the Cedar River Campground on a report of a body floating in the Cedar River. The Delta County Sheriff’s Office also responded and assisted with a drone. Officials found a man stuck in a group of ice shoves.
The body was removed from the river by ice and swift water rescue personnel from the Mellen and Cedarville Township fire departments. It was identified as Vladimir Ivanovic, 50, a hunter who was reported missing last November.
Police and public volunteers have been looking for 58-year-old Vladmir Ivanovic of Illinois since he went missing in Menominee County while hunting in November 2020.
WELLS TOWNSHIP, MI Four structures in Wells Township were damaged by fire Sunday.
Escanaba Public Safety was notified around 11:10 a.m. of a garage fire on 18th Road. The garage was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, and a small nearby shed had also caught on fire. A large barn just to the northwest of the garage was ignited, and a short time later high winds blew hot embers to a small garage further north, setting it on fire.
Public Safety officers and firefighters from other departments saved the barn and the small garage from serious damage. The larger garage and small shed were a total loss.
