Memorial service for 89 year old Georgia Stout of Delta will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 3rd at the Delta United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Garrett Cemetery near Delta. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2nd at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney. A memorial fund has been established for the Delta United Methodist Church.

For months they’ve been numbers on a Health Department list, those who have been tested positive for COVID-19, those hospitalized, those who have recovered, and the two dozen who have passed away. A few of the families of those victims have been willing to tell their stories.
Greg Collins was the pastor at Delta United Methodist Church in Sandy Ridge up until his death from COVID in September. Pastor Collins’ wife, Bonnie, was also positive with the virus but had very little in the way of symptoms.
Both the Collins went on Aug. 31 to be tested, since Bonnie’s employer said one of her coworkers had tested positive. “My test came back Sept. 2 as positive and at that time I had no symptoms,” she says. “Greg’s test came back as negative the following day and he had no symptoms either. It wasn’t until a few days later that I lost my sense of taste, but only about three days.”
