A $10 million donation from Pioneer Material Precision Tech, or PMP Tech, will fund the UC Berkeley College of Chemistry’s construction of Heathcock Hall.
Heathcock Hall will be a major chemistry research and teaching facility, according to College of Chemistry spokesperson Camille Olufson. The donation is a continuation of the partnership between PMP Tech and the College of Chemistry that started five years ago when College of Chemistry alumnus Ted Hou introduced the company executives to Douglas Clark, College of Chemistry dean.
“The College of Chemistry is very grateful for the wonderful partnership that we have had with PMP Tech over the past five years,” Olufson said in an email. “The company has been very generous, giving support to the College’s infrastructure, graduate fellowships, student programs and faculty support.”
