A MAJOR expansion and redevelopment of housing for Oxford NHS staff has started. Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) and housing provider A2Dominion are working together on the scheme, which has been described as essential for recruiting and retaining staff. The affordable housing next to the Headington hospital site will include 125 flats in Ivy Lane for John Radcliffe workers and 19 in Churchill Drive for Churchill Hospital employees. Construction on the Churchill Drive homes began this month as the first phase of the project which will require demolishing the original hospital accommodation. As well providing upgraded housing it will also create an additional 51 homes across both sites, which will be able to house approximately 430 staff.

The new Liza Jackson Preparatory School will continue to provide instruction for students from kindergarten through eighth grade. But those students, who will arrive in August, will have 16,000 additional square feet in which to move around.
Roberts said plans call for adding another grade level class for each elementary grade, a move that will raise the student population to close to 1,000.

At the time the local YMCA declared bankruptcy in 2014, its Fort Walton Beach campus occupied about 20 acres that had been deeded to the city by the Air Force. But the Air Force benevolence hinged on the provision that the land be used for recreational and/or educational purposes.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Following the first shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine Monday morning (Dec. 14), the first round of employees at Willis-Knighton have begun the vaccination process.
Starting at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 14, 17 Willis-Knighton employees received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Following their dose, they will be observed for 15 minutes. Healthcare workers at CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System in Shreveport received the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer Monday, Dec. 14, 2020. (Source: KSLA)
