Peter Burke will not be the Holy Cross head coach for the 2021 season, the team was informed on Friday afternoon. The college announced the news on Friday at 5 p.m. See the official release below.
The @HCrossMLAX team is currently being informed that Peter Burke is no longer the team’s head coach, sources tell me. I’m told that assistant Shayne Lynch will take over on an interim basis.
An inquiry was not immediately returned. More to come on @Inside Lacrosse. Terry Foy (@TerenceFoy) January 8, 2021
Burke was set to enter his third third season at the helm for the Crusaders, having led them to a 7-7 finish as an interim head coach in 2019 and a 4-3 start in 2020. He took over for Judd Lattimore, who was placed on administrative leave during the 2018 season. Lynch will be the program’s fifth head coach since 2011, when Jim Morrissey took over for Adam Pascal.

The Gators, a team comprised of players attending St. Paul s School for Girls in Brooklandville, Md., won the ILWomen Indoor National Championships high school division Sunday night at The St. James in Springfield, Va., punctuating an excellent day put on by Robinson Sports.
The Gators topped Phantoms, a team comprised of players attending Bayport-Blue Point High School in Bayport, N.Y., 16-15. Phantoms led 8-7 at half and opened up a 10-7 lead early in the second, but Gators have battled back and a Madison Beale (Duke) free position put her team up for good, 14-13, with about 7:00 to play.
