Police searching for 14-year-old suspect after fatal shooting in Wilmington Police are searching for a minor who is wanted in connection to a fatal shooting in Wilmington, Ohio. Officers responded around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a shooting at Derbyshire Drive, officials said.  The victim, 20-year-old Caleb King, was found with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to city officials. He was transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries.  So far, the firearm has not been recovered, officials said.  Police are searching for a 14-year-old suspect in connection to the shooting, officials said, adding the minor s whereabouts are currently unknown.

Wilmington shooting: Male, 14, charged with reckless homicide, police said

Police in Wilmington said the 14-year-old male juvenile has been charged by prosecutors with reckless homicide and felonious assault in the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old . Chief Ron Cravens, in a news conference shared by the department, said  the number one priority is the safe apprehension of the juvenile. The chief declined to elaborate on the juvenile s potential whereabouts or any possible motive for the shooting, citing an ongoing investigation. He said the department has had very little contact with the 14-year-old,and declined to elaborate because he is a juvenile. “The firearm has not been recovered, and we’re considering him armed at this time, Cravens said.

Airplane makes emergency landing in Venice pond; 1 person hospitalized

Sarasota Herald-Tribune One person was hospitalized after a small airplane crashed into a pond in Venice on Saturday evening, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the plane, reporting engine problems, made an emergency landing at about 5:15 p.m. in a pond in the 490 block of Derbyshire Drive in the Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club. Two people were on board the plane. One was hospitalized for observation. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane is a 2006 Cessna 172S single-engine aircraft registered to Florida Flight Training Center in Venice.
