Authorities in California arrested a father after his 1-year-old baby suffered severe burns from a cup of ramen noodles.
The father s arrest came just a day after police took the mother in custody in Porterville. According to Tulare County Sheriff s Department, the mother was in the shower when her 3-year-old child knocked over the cup of noodles off a counter and onto the 1-year-old baby.
The officials told local media Anthony Garcia, 22, admitted to being present when the incident took place. The parents did not seek immediate medical attention for the baby. The mother, identified as 28-year-old Daisy Magana, said the baby did not have any visible burns until Monday, which was why they waited before taking the child to the hospital, ABC30 reported.
A Porterville couple is accused of injuring their 1-year-old baby, according to Tulare County Sheriff s Department.

On Monday, Daisy Magana took her baby to the emergency department with second and third-degree burns. The child went untreated for hours, according to sheriff s deputies.
Hospital staff called sheriff s deputies who then interviewed Magana. The mother told detectives that on Sunday, while she was in the shower, the baby’s 3-year-old sibling knocked a cup of ramen noodles off the counter and onto the baby.
