Sunseri Anchors in Walk-off Win
Shelbi Sunseri got the Tigers going with a 2-1 win in the opener on Friday night. The LSU hurler tossed a complete game with three hits and two strikeouts. The Bayou Bengal offense got started in the first when Taylor Pleasants, who was named SEC Newcomer of the year and first team All-SEC, hit a solo home run. After Auburn came back to tie the game at one, Rayleen Gutizerez notched a sac-fly RBI to seal the win.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - LSU freshman shortstop Taylor Pleasants has been named the Southeastern Conference Newcomer of the Week the league announced on Monday, May 10. It is the second time in three weeks that Pleasants has earned the honor.
Pleasants first earned the honor on Tuesday, April 27 when she played a crucial part in LSU’s series win over Kentucky and once again was a key part in this past weekends series win against Auburn.

LSU freshman Taylor Pleasants made sure it was a great Senior Day while the Tigers’ softball program recorded its 1,200th win in history when she belted a game-winning grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 4-1 win over Auburn in the deciding game of the final SEC regular season series.
The Tigers finished the regular season 31-18 overall and 13-11 in the Southeastern Conference while Auburn wrapped up at 27-21 overall and 7-17 in the SEC. LSU will be the fifth seed in the SEC tournament in Tuscaloosa and will play in Wednesday’s second game of the day the winner of the 12-13 seed game featuring Auburn and South Carolina.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Auburn evened the series against No. 13 LSU with a 9-5 win on Saturday, May 8 in Tiger Park.
Auburn got things started in the fourth inning in a scoreless game with three runs, the first two coming on a Makayla Packer home run just over the left field fence with a runner on board that made it 2-0.
The visiting Tigers then got another run across thanks to three balls in the infield that would eventually score Maddison Koepke to make it 3-0.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - No. 13 LSU closed out the regular season with a series win over Auburn with a 4-1 victory. The win marked the 1,200th in program history for LSU.

Trailing 1-0 entering the bottom of the sixth inning with the Tigers being held to only one hit. LSU needed to get things going against Auburn starting pitcher Shelby Lowe (13-8) who they were facing for the third straight game.
