“Following the heat wave, the OFC sent a request out to all fire departments in BC requesting tenders (water tankers) with pump and roll capabilities to provide structure protection in response to the growing number of wildfires.” said protective services manager David Sturgeon in a July 2nnd report to the board.
Two firefighters a driver and an operator will also be required to join Tender 1 as required by the OFC’s criteria for Provincial deployment.
“Staffing for the apparatus will be provided on a voluntary basis by members of the CLFD in conjunction with the Taylor Fire Department and the Hudson’s Hope Fire Department. This will allow a sustainable rotation of members, and will prevent the depletion of any one department’s resources.”

Woman trapped in car dies in rollover crash on I-94 in Taylor, police say

TAYLOR, MI - A woman driving on I-94 in Taylor died Sunday morning after getting trapped in her car in a rollover crash, police said.
Troopers responded to the crash around 9:30 a.m., Feb. 21 to eastbound I-94 near Monroe Boulevard, said the Michigan State Police’s Metro Detroit post.
First responders discovered a single car rolled over with the driver still inside, police said. Troopers were unable to evacuate the driver from the car, but initiated CPR until Taylor Fire Department paramedics arrived, police said.
