Australian billionaire Dr Andrew Forrest has announced plans to build a gas and hydrogen dual-fuelled power station at Port Kembla.
The $1 billion initiative, funded by Dr Forrest’s privately owned Squadron Energy, will provide industries and households in NSW with access to affordable, green energy.
Stage one of Andrew Forrest’s plan, the Port Kembla Gas Import Terminal, is currently under construction at Berth 101 of the Port of Port Kembla.
Stage two was the development of a gas-fired power station linked to the Gas Import Terminal, and was shortlisted by the federal government in the Underwriting New Generation Investment scheme.

Vaccine mess needs improvement
There are people who are considered senior citizens, but still need to work. And when they work, they have human contact.
Why is it that Covid vaccines are given out to those who are considered caregivers? There are people who are in their 30s or 40s, work full time, but accompany their parents who are in the 70s or 80s, and they say they need to get a vaccine because they are their parents caregivers.
How can they be a caregiver if they are working full time?
I knew the vaccine list would get out of hand. These younger people are taking vaccines away from those who are older and work outside the home and need that vaccine. I also am aware of a woman who got the vaccine because she works for a healthcare company.
