Penn Hills School District hosts open houses at its three schools

Penn Hills families got a chance to tour the district schools and look at what is in store for their children a few weeks before the start of the new school year. The elementary, middle and high school doors were open for a couple of hours each on Aug. 10.

Campaign co-chairs for the 2020 campaign were Judy Love and Mike Turpen. The organization recently announced its $20,428,686 total amount, noting that more than 19,000 donors and 7,000 workplace campaigns contributed to the total. Last year, United Way funds went to support specific programs of 56 partner agencies serving central Oklahoma, along with funding extra programs such as the COVID-19 Response Fund addressing pandemic-related needs, the Ice Storm Response Fund for emergency relief following the October ice storm and more.

United Way of Central Oklahoma raises $20 4 million for health and human service programs

United Way of Central Oklahoma announced its 2020 fundraising campaign total during the organization’s annual meeting on Feb. 25. Led by campaign co-chairs Judy Love and Mike Turpen, the campaign raised a grand total of $20,428,686 in contributions from more than 19,000 donors and 700 workplace campaigns to support health and human service programs throughout central Oklahoma. “During an extraordinary year, we were humbled to surpass our 2020 campaign goal,” said Debby Hampton, president and CEO of United Way of Central Oklahoma. “The generosity of our donors is always unmatched, but with the unprecedented challenges of this last year, the overwhelming support we received is truly remarkable.
