A man will appear in court charged with the attempted murder of notorious gangster Samer Marcus in Sydney s southwest last year.
Samer Marcus, 45, was left in a critical condition after being shot in the head at close range on Campbelltown Road in Denham Court on November 6.
The senior member of the notorious Assyrian gang DLASTHR (The Last Hour) was rushed to Liverpool Hospital with severe injuries to his chest, face and back.
Criminal groups squad commander Detective Acting Superintendent Jayne Doherty told reporters at the time that Marcus was co-operating with police from hospital, The Australian reported. His future quality of life will be severely impacted, the superintendent said.
A breakthrough in the case came in February after a public appeal the month before.
Stanley Ceismann was arrested in Maroubra on February 23 and charged with 20 offences, including stealing the black BMW that was used in the Denham Court shooting.
Then at around 5pm yesterday, tactical police and investigators targeting Sydney s crime gangs swooped on Luke Sparos in his Surry Hills home.
They found multiple items inside the 40-year-old s home that they believe are linked to last year s shooting.
Mr Sparos was taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was charged with shooting with intent to murder.
He s also been charged with tampering with evidence with the intent to mislead a judicial tribunal.

A 40-year-old man will appear in court charged with the attempted murder of another man in Sydney s southwest last year.
The 45-year-old victim was left in a critical condition after being shot at Denham Court on November 6, NSW Police said.
Investigators later arrested a 29-year-old man at a home at Maroubra in February.
