Interstate 70 in Denver West is reopen after the highway closed when a lemon truck caught fire Wednesday, the Colorado Department of Transportation said. The freight truck was driving on eastbound I-70 near the Colorado Mills Parkway exit when the fire ignited just before 3:30 p.m., CDOT said. The truck was extremely damaged by the fire, causing hundreds of lemons to spill onto the road. The highway was fully closed for around an hour as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and clean up the lemons. The closure was completed at around 4:30 p.m., according to CDOT’s website. Officials with Colorado State Patrol said the driver of the truck was not injured during the incident. The only cargo being hauled was lemons.
