Howard Boys Adjust Scheme To Beat Brainerd, Panther Girls Rout Lady Hustlin Tigers

Howard Boys Adjust Scheme To Beat Brainerd, Panther Girls Rout Lady Hustlin Tigers Saturday, January 23, 2021 - by Joseph Dycus The third quarter belonged to Kerrick Thorne, whose 6’7 frame was everywhere and did everything for a Howard Hustlin’ Tigers squad that blew open what was a close game against the visiting Brainerd Panthers. The 23-20 halftime lead became a 61-47 win because of his interior scoring, passing, and defense in the second half.   Coming out of the locker room, Howard’s Xavier Fisher drove into the middle, and dumped off a pass to Thorne, who softly feathered it in. Lakeview extends winter break | News, Sports, Jobs

CORTLAND The Lakeview Board of Education voted unanimously Monday to extend the upcoming winter break. The schedule rearrangement will tack on the weeklong spring break to the end of winter break. Classes will resume Jan. 11 instead of Jan. 4. “Our hope is to be back on the hybrid schedule when classes resume, pending what the Trumbull County Health Department says,” Superintendent Velina Jo Taylor said. Students are expected to be in school during what would have been spring break. During the public comment portion of the meeting, parents Taylor and Shannon Pease told the board why they feel the move back to in-person learning is needed. They presented data from various entities to implore the board to move back to traditional learning.
