BAZETTA After eight years as a township trustee and six years as a zoning board member, Trustee Ted Webb announced Tuesday he will retire from public office at the end of the year.
Webb, who has retired from and sold his graphic design / plate-making business, said at the trustees meeting he wants to spend more time with his family and will not seek re-election in November.
Trustee Frank Parke also has indicated he will not seek re-election this year.
“It’s time to bring some new people in to serve the township,” said Webb, who served five of the past eight years as trustee chairman.

George Snyder discusses the need Tuesday for a larger, more sheltered structure for vaccine administration. Snyder is the Burghill-Vernon fire chief and planning section chief of the Trumbull County Fire Chiefsâ Association Incident Management Team â a part of the Trumbull County Emergency Operations Center.
WARREN Trumbull County commissioners are being asked to use up to $400,000 in CARES Act money to build a shelter to accommodate vaccine administration efforts.
The request came Tuesday from several fire chiefs in the Trumbull County Fire Chiefs’ Association Incident Management Team, a part of Trumbull County’s emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and county health officials.

⢠Approved appointments: Webb to zoning and police departments, McBride to fire department and Parke to road department;
⢠Heard from Parke they will seek bids in February for the construction of a new utility building at Hillside Cemetery, which was destroyed by a tornado in January 2019. Plans are to approve bids in March or April and break ground on the building in spring. Webb said the insurance on the building was addressed. He said this week the new chapel was dedicated. It also was destroyed by the tornado;

⢠Heard from Webb plans for next year are to have separate credit cards for each department head instead of one credit card being used by all departments. Road supervisor Kris Parke’s credit card covers three departments of cemetery, roads and parks. Officials said this will help fiscal officer Cynthia Chapman know where each expense came from;
⢠Heard from fire Chief Dennis Lewis, who was at the Burghill Vernon Fire Department, that 104 COVID-19 vaccines arrived Tuesday and 100 more Dec. 29 for frontline workers and first responders in Trumbull County. He said workers were vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine, which requires two doses;
