Albany County approves more small business aid

ALBANY – The Albany County legislature approved another $200,000 toward a small business assistance program Monday evening.
The money is meant to help businesses struggling with the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic and is an addition to a $300,000 program the county legislature created earlier this month.
Another $100,000 has been earmarked for 2021.
Majority Leader Dennis Feeney, who sponsored the resolution, said the grants may be the only assistance some small businesses in the county can rely on.

“I felt it imperative that if we were going to provide this funding, we offered it to as many businesses in Albany County as possible,” he said in a statement.
