The estate has shattered its own record, selling for $17.15 million.
That s the all-time-high-price paid for a home on the island and in all of Lee County, for that matter, based on data from the Southwest Florida Multiple Listing Service, or MLS.
The Caribbean-style manor home, at 16660 Captiva Drive, held the same records before its latest sale, after commanding a head-turning price of $16.3 million in early 2016.
The sale reflects the high demand for ultra-high-end vacation homes, a trend seen over the past year in Southwest Florida and other parts of the country, sparked by what Builder magazine describes as a live-in-the-present and act-now attitude resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
