Denton Police Seize 156 Firearms From Suspected Criminals In Last 7 Months Syndicated Local – CBS Dallas / Fort Worth
DENTON, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – The Denton Police Department announced Thursday, April 29, it has removed 156 firearms from the streets since October 2020, in an effort to “address the increase in violent crime involving firearms in our city.”
The department explained in a news release, “The initiative used an evidence-based, data-driven approach to proactively deploy detectives in areas where the use of firearms is being used in the commission of criminal offenses. In the past six months, the special operations detectives that worked the initiative were tasked with locating and seizing firearms, particularly those that are stolen, illegally possessed by felons, or used in the commission of violent crimes. Patrol officers were also urged to continue meticulously reporting gun-related offenses, and to seize weapons used during violent offense

Justin Barrett Frazell, 47, of Mansfield was booked into the Denton County jail Monday on one count of indecent assault, a misdemeanor. He was released a short time later on $2,500 bail, jail records show.
Details about the allegations were not immediately available. According to jail records, the alleged incident occurred Dec. 22.
It was unclear whether Frazell had an attorney in indecent assault case. His attorney in the aggravated sexual assault case could not immediately be reached.
Amber Campbell, 27, and Nathan Bassett, 23, were arrested and booked into the Denton County Jail.

After the arrest, police discovered that Campbell had a warrant for her arrest on an attempted first-degree murder charge out of Colorado.
She has been charged with evading arrest/detention with a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. Her bail was set at $35,000 for those charges.
Her charges from Jefferson County, Colorado, include the attempted murder charge, as well as two counts of robbery, one count of assault and an aggravated motor vehicle theft charge, jail records show. Bail has not been set for those counts.

Carrollton police arrested David Ryan Renner, 50, of Frisco on Wednesday after he was indicted by a Denton County grand jury. He was released on $20,000 bond later in the day.
It is unclear whether Renner has an attorney.
According to police, the accuser was hospitalized at what was then Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Carrollton in August 2019 and told authorities that Renner, a contract worker for the hospital, sexually assaulted her during a therapeutic massage session.
