The Johnson and Johnson and AstraZeneca vaccines have been approved for use in the over-50s off the back of recommendations by NIAC. It follows concerns over a possible link between the jabs and rare blood clots. Dr Denis O’Keeffe, a Consultant Haematologist at University Hospital Limerick, is one of a number of people specialising in blood clotting in Ireland, who are investigating the causes behind the rare blood clotting event.
