Barricaded gunman dies from self-inflicted gunshot in Redford Township

After the suspect barricaded himself in his home, SWAT teams arrived to negotiate with the individual
The scene unfolded Sunday after a woman contacted Redford Township Police claiming she d been the victim of an assault.
Her boyfriend allegedly punched her in the face around midnight before firing a handgun into the living room ceiling. He eventually left the location.
The victim was later contacted by the suspect who told her he was going to set her house on fire, which was located in the city of Detroit.
Soon after she got a phone call from her neighbor telling her that her house was on fire, which was confirmed by the Detroit Fire Department.

DETROIT – Dozens of burning cars are sending plumes of smoke into the air as a massive fire rips through a junkyard on
The fire is at Big Sam’s Auto Parks, a salvage yard at the corner of Lyndon Street and Meyers Road.
Detroit firefighters have declared a “hazmat level 1″ situation due to hazardous materials inside those vehicles, officials said.
The sound of burning airbags popping can be heard around the junkyard. The hazmat level 1 situation was declared because of the possible dangerous chemical situation.
