A MUM is raising money for the hospital that saved her little boy’s life. Dexter Massey, from Burnley, is now 10 months old and has not had an easy life so far He was diagnosed with a heart defect called Anomalous Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery (ALCAPA) from which he may never fully recover. The illness means the left side of the heart is being fed from the wrong artery and the condition makes up 0.5% of all congenital heart disease cases. Dexter had an operation to fix the defect in October 2020 and while it was a success, the damage to his heart has been too great to cure him. But, for now, he is not in danger.
