CONSTRUCTION work has started on a controversial housing development near Pershore. The work at Allesborough Farm has begun and will see more than 30 new homes being built on the site, including the conversion of a Grade II listed barn together with detached stables to create four homes. In addition, 27 new-build homes are being built on the site, which is a project for Malvern Developments, a subsidiary of Vaughan Brothers Developments. The original plans for the site, submitted in 2017, were for the demolition of the existing farm buildings and the building of 27 new houses. These were rejected by Wychavon District Council, who received representations from residents of nearby Choules Close concerning the new T-junction, which they said would exacerbate the dangerous road situation as Rebecca Road is currently unsafe for pedestrians and high speed with limited visibility exiting from Choules Close.
