Makes sense after a stellar season for Ossai, who’s now the 145th player in university history to earn All-America honors. He’s also the first Longhorn to receive the honor since 2017. Ossai will now prepare for the NFL Draft after announcing his intention to opt out of the Longhorns’ postseason Alamo Bowl game against the Colorado Buffaloes on Tuesday.

Former Texas defensive lineman Charles Omenihu even went as far as to blame bad coaching for the Longhorns’ 2018 Big 12 Championship loss to the Oklahoma Sooners in Herman’s second year. “My senior year, if we had better coaching, we would have whooped them,” Omenihu wrote on Twitter in a since deleted tweet.
