TEMPE, Ariz. A 3-year-old girl has been sent to the hospital after a near-drowning on Mill Avenue near Broadway Road on Sunday evening.
Officers and Tempe Fire Medical and Rescue responded to the scene around 4:45 p.m. and saw an individual rendering aid to the girl, police said.
She was transported to the hospital and has life-threatening injuries, police said.
The incident is currently under investigation.

TEMPE, AZ â A 3-year-old girl has been hospitalized after a near-drowning near Mill Avenue and Broadway Road Sunday afternoon.
Tempe Police and Tempe Fire Medical and Rescue say they responded to a drowning call at around 4:45 p.m.
When crews arrived on the scene, they located a 3-year-old girl who was receiving aid from a person on the scene.
Tempe fire officials then took over treatment and transported the girl to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Further details surrounding this incident are not yet known at this time.

TEMPE, AZ â Tempe police are investigating after a body was found along the north shore of Tempe Town Lake Monday morning.
Officers with the Tempe Police Department initially received reports of a body in the water at the north shore of Tempe Town Lake.
Authorities then recovered the body of a man from the lake with the help of Tempe Fire Medical Rescue.
Details leading up to the individuals death are unknown.
An investigation is still ongoing.
