Miss El Dorado Registration Open

Registration is now open for the Miss El Dorado 2021 pageant. The annual event will be held on Saturday, August 21st at 4 p.m. the USD 490 Performing Arts Center. While there was not an on-stage pageant last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, pageant organizers were able to hold a virtual event.
Pageant registration is now open with a deadline of August 12th. The registration form, along with rules and schedule of events can be found on the Miss El Dorado website: misseldoradoks.com
Miss El Dorado Ambassadors will help the community celebrate 150 years in El Dorado as well as attend community events throughout the year.
Marketplace 67010 coming to Augusta

Tonya Scott, owner of Marketplace 67010 along with husband Shane, are working to develop downtown Augusta and the Red Brick District as a travel destination in Kansas.
“We have men and women’s clothing, home decor, jewelry, hard to find gifts, fresh fudge and so much more,” said Scott.
While the store is owned and operated by Scott, many of the items are created by local artisans and sold on consignment.
The newly opened retail store, located at 601 State Street in Augusta, is hosting a grand opening showcase and ribbon cutting galafrom 5 to 9 p.m. August 5, and the community is invited to help them celebrate.
Beer brewers visit El Dorado Rotary

The Rotary Club of El Dorado welcomed guest speaker, Travis Rohrberg from Walnut River Brewing Company on Wednesday, July 21st.
Walnut River Brewing Company opened in El Dorado in July 2013 and Rohrberg joined co-owners B.J. Hunt and Rick Gehring about 8 months after its opening. He works in the role of Quality Control/Packaging and Logistics.
After a couple of years in operation, they expanded with all new brewing equipment, added a canning line, opened the taproom and began statewide distribution. Another expansion a few years later added more equipment, distribution to Missouri and Wyoming and the opening of the PourHouse restaurant in Wichita.
