The incident took place at 11.10pm Thursday evening
The driver was unable to navigate the roadway and/or experienced brake failure near the Cross Bronx Expressway and University Avenue
Police say there were eight people on board, including the driver
The FDNY has said that all were injured
FDNY officials said that the bus fell 50 feet onto the access road, with the eight injured suffering injuries consistent with falling such a height
