NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ On May 3, Tennessee distillers were honored by the Tennessee House of Representatives for their efforts in producing hand sanitizer to support essential workers throughout the state during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rep. Michael G. Curcio (R – Dickson), who sponsored the resolution (HR0097), applauded Tennessee distillers for stepping into unfamiliar roles to help fellow Tennesseans in need and putting people over profits. Tennessee distillers had to suspend their tours during COVID-19, and they took it upon themselves to put the needs of others above their own and began producing hand sanitizer instead of whiskey, said Curcio in his address to fellow legislators on the House floor on May 3.

New York’s craft distilling industry has been thriving in recent years and now features over 160 active craft distilleries, which is a 60 percent increase in the number of distilleries since 2016. This extraordinary growth reflects the efficacy of New York State’s forward-thinking economic and legislative policies for craft beverage producers.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon announced the opening of the Hospitality Loss Relief Program, which provides pandemic relief for hospitality businesses and nonprofits whose operations have been interrupted by the reduced hours provisions in recent health orders.
Awards up to $50,000 are available for Wyoming bars, taverns, restaurants, or hotels that derive their primary revenue between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. from on-premises sales and consumption of malt beverages, wine, and/or liquor.
“Since this recent surge began, our goal has been to save lives, protect hospital capacity, and keep our economy going, ” Governor Gordon said. “This program will provide relief to impacted businesses and provide an avenue to keep these owners and employees whole during the holiday season.”
