And that number will likely rise.    Dillingham plans to host a number of pop-up COVID-19 testing and vaccine clinics, which are set to start at the end of May and run through July. Interim City Manager Gregg Brelsford says the city plans to use state funding as a stopgap until federal stimulus money, called the American Rescue Plan, becomes available in mid-July.   “That’s our estimate right now, based on the information we have, Brelsford said. So we’ve structured our program to go for two months to give us a bridge between now and the time when we should get that additional money. And then we can continue the program if the city wants to at that time.”

That s nearly a quarter of the region s population; according to the state Department of Labor estimates for 2020, about 7,200 people live in Bristol Bay. As of Monday, the Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation has administered the first dose of the vaccine to 1,795 people; 1,159 people have received the second dose.
