New arts initiative announces summer concerts
April 28, 2021LITTLETON Last week, the Littleton Cultural Arts Commission announced its new Littleton First Friday Arts program, including three outdoor concerts at the Riverside Commons.
The new First Friday program will occur only during the summer months, but the Commission intends to grow the program over time slowly. The first three events are scheduled from 6 pm to 10 pm on June 4, July 2 and Aug. 6.
All three concerts feature New Hampshire-based performers. Sly Richard takes the stage in June, followed by the Morris Manning Group in July and Donkilo! Afro Funk Orchestra in August. The free outdoor concerts begin at 8 p.m.
Giving on the rise, but so is need

For more than a century, Granite United Way reached donors at their workplaces or in their living rooms with traditional face-to-face conversations. Now with benefactors sitting tight in their homes to buffer against the coronavirus, CEO Patrick Tufts finds himself broadcasting to 300 boxes on a Zoom screen from his office.
Tufts, a fundraising veteran, laments the loss of that personal connection. It is challenging to maintain contact with people who still depend on a paper pledge card.
