Attempted witness intimidation, gun charges lead to prison term

An attempt to intimidate a witness into changing her statement has led to a prison term for a man found in possession of a small weapons cache. Tyson Dylan Ray, 25, appeared at Regina Provincial Court earlier this month for sentencing on matters to which he’d pleaded guilty among them two counts of obstructing justice related to the attempted witness intimidation and several weapons offences. Ray had previously also faced unlawful confinement and animal cruelty charges in relation to an unrelated allegation, but those charges have since been stayed. Judge Noah Evanchuk agreed to impose a sentence of just over six years less remand credit as jointly requested by Crown and defence counsel.

After a couple of hours, their haul weighed in at a whopping 680 pounds. The group calls itself Debris Free Sneads Ferry, and it was organized and led by Hannah Faith Kushner. Kushner, of Sneads Ferry, said she considers litter in the area to be a tremendous problem. Debris Free Sneads Ferry is just one of a handful of emerging efforts to clean up the area around Stump Sound. The sound touches a handful of municipalities and unincorporated areas, which poses challenges to managing issues like litter. Who is in charge of addressing this problem?
