Step back from the ledge Tiger fans, LSU did the improbable and won an SEC game.
The Tigers picked up their second conference game of the season with Friday evening’s 15-2 victory over Kentucky.
“It’s great to taste victory,” LSU head coach Paul Mainieri said.
“Tonight was a great all-around team win for us,” designated hitter Cade Beloso said. “It feels good to have a smile on my face.”
“It’s almost like a weight’s been lifted off our shoulder,” starting pitcher Landon Marceaux said.
Marceaux led the charge with another quality start, allowing two runs (one earned) in 7.1 innings of work where he allowed seven hits and struck out eight. He did not issue any walks.

In its 10
th SEC baseball game of the year at Kentucky on Friday night, LSU finally looked like the team that started the season ranked No. 7 nationally.
Seven of nine Tigers’ in the starting batting order had two hits or more , including three home runs.
Starting pitcher Landon Marceaux was a master of control, muzzling the SEC’s third best hitting team with an array of well-placed pitches.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WAFB) - The LSU Tigers erupted for 15 runs on 17 hits as they snapped a six game Southeastern Conference losing streak with a 15-2 win against the Kentucky Wildcats.
Of the 17 hits the Tigers (19-11, 2-8 SEC) collected 13 were singles, one double and three home runs. Not to be overshadowed by the offensive outburst was the start by Landon Marceaux on the mound who was also helped out by some great defensive plays behind him.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The LSU Tigers got back in the win column after taking down in-state foe, McNeese State, 14-1, on Tuesday, April 6.
The Tigers (18-11, 1-8 SEC) scored 14 runs on 12 hits against the Cowboys (14-14, 8-7 SLC) and will look to continue to build off their momentum as they return to Southeastern Conference play this weekend against Kentucky.
LSU got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the second inning, as Giovanni DiGiacomo returned to the lineup and hit an RBI double to left field to make it 1-0.
