A BIG-hearted former Greenock bar boss has switched from pulling pints to selling sofas to help the Inverclyde community. Stevie Gavin, former owner of the Thistle Bar in Lynedoch Street, has transformed the pub into Thist le Help - a new shop packed with pre-loved furniture and white goods. Stevie runs local firm Rubbish2Go and used to give away lots of stock still in good condition to the Ardgowan Hospice furniture store, which has now closed. After deciding that the pub business wasn t for him, the businessman knew he wanted to do something to help people - and decided to put good quality second-hand furniture he gathers to good use.
