Gros Islet – Kemar Roach gave West Indies an early breakthrough, after they suffered a terminal batting collapse after lunch, sparked by pacer Lungi Ngidi, and were bowled out for their lowest Test total against South Africa in the first Test in St. Lucia.
Roach had the South African captain Dean Elgar caught at third slip for a fifth ball duck, but Test newcomer Keegan Petersen, not out on 19, and Aiden Markram, not out 10, carried the visitors to 30 for one in their first innings at tea on the first day of the Test at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground (DSCG).

St. John s : , May 22 (IANS) Cricket West Indies (CWI) will hold Professional Cricketers Draft for the 2021/2022 season on May 25, with nearly 100 players vying for 12 spots.
Six territorial board franchises will convene to draft their final two players for their squads to play in the forthcoming season, which includes the CG Insurance Super50 Cup and the West Indies Championship.
The draft will be conducted over two rounds, where each franchise will have to pick a player in each round. Each franchise will pick two players to add to their pre-selected squad of 13 protected players, to make a full squad of 15 players.

COOLIDGE – Trinidad & Tobago Red Force are the champions of the West Indies Super50 Cup.
Kieron Pollard’s side relied upon a record, seventh List A hundred from veteran opener Lendl Simmons and a destructive spell of seam bowling from experienced pacer Ravi Rampaul to romp to a commanding, 152-run win over Guyana Jaguars in the day/night final at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
The result meant Red Force played unbeaten throughout the tournament, handing them their 13th title and the Clive Lloyd Trophy, symbol of West Indies Super50 supremacy, for the first time in five years.
