Traco Cable renovates Kochi unit

Traco Cable Company Limited, a Kerala government enterprise, has renovated its unit at Irumpaman, Kochi, by installing new machinery worth ₹3 crore as part of the modernisation and expansion project.
E.P Jayarajan, Minister for Industries, will inaugurate the renovated facility on Saturday. Anoop Jacob, MLA, will preside over the function.
The company had used the ₹5 crore support given by the government to carry out its expansion plans. Of this, ₹3 crore was used at its Irumpanam unit, according to a release issued here.
The Traco management hopes to bag more orders from other State electricity boards and from abroad through the initiative, it said.

It includes a single order of ₹143 crore from KSEB The public sector Traco Cable Company Limited has bagged orders worth ₹334 crore this year, including a single order worth ₹143 crore from the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB).
The KSEB order was for ACSR rabbit conductors, which was a big achievement, said company sources on Monday. It was received in early November and the power utility will deploy the conductors for distribution purposes.
Traco Cable sources said with a total order worth ₹334 crore in hand, the company should be able to make a sales turnover to the tune of ₹225 crore for the financial year 2020-21. The total business turnover will be a new high for the company.
