Houston Texans Signing 'Living Legend' Pass-Rusher In NFL Free Agency - Sports Illustrated Houston Texans News, Analysis and More

Apr 16, 2021 Walker is a former second-round draft pick (in the 2017 NFL Draft) from Florida State who in his NFL career has 10.5 career sacks, 51 tackles and 17 quarterback hits. On limited snaps over the course of the last two seasons with the Denver Broncos, he totaled 8.5 of those sacks, and he had 4.5 of those last year. The 6-4, 280-pounder, who is just 26, joins a new collection of defensive players in Houston, some of whom, like Shaq Lawson, come to town with big reputations and potential never quite realized in the NFL. It can be argued that in Denver, they tried to convert him from a down lineman to a linebacker, and only recently, by returning him to his more natural defensive end spot did he flash more positively.

Denver Broncos' DL Shamar Stephen: What he Brings to the Defense - Sports Illustrated Mile High Huddle: Denver Broncos News, Analysis and More

Apr 10, 2021 Denver Broncos GM George Paton continues to turn over the roster, the most recent acquisition of which was a known quantity in recently-released ex-Minnesota Viking Shamar Stephen. Vic Fangio has often gone to the NFC North for talent and the Broncos have continued to go to that well.  Aged 30, and heading into his eighth NFL season, the 6-foot-5, 309-pound defensive tackle was a former seventh-round draft pick out of Connecticut in 2014. Stephen has started 31 games in six seasons with the Vikings over two stints, sandwiched with a year in Seattle in 2018, where he started 14 games.  In 2019, Stephen signed a three-year, $12.45 million contract, with $4.9M guaranteed to rejoin the Vikings, but did not live up to the contract and was released after the Vikings signed former Alabama tackle Dalvin Tomlinson.
