Tretiakov wins European Championship skeleton title for first time since 2007 Friday, 8 January 2021 Alexander Tretiakov claimed his first European title since 2007 as the Russian star ended Martins Dukurs domination of the event in Winterberg. The European Championship was held as part of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup series. Dukurs headed into the event as favourite, with the Latvian star having won all European Championship titles since 2010 and the opening four World Cup races of the season. Dukurs could only place third in the opening run of the competition by clocking 56.46 seconds, 0.18 seconds adrift of the leader Tretiakov, who clocked 56.28.
