Tina Gibbs, with Ameren Illinois says the utility has given away 26 refrigerator-freezers to six area food pantries so they could accept perishable food. Gibbs says the White Ash Food pantry is making good use of theirs. The White Ash Baptist Church Food Pantry, she said right now, it s stocked full of cheese. It gives them a lot of flexibility.

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh continued to estimate between 5-8 inches of snowfall across the region Wednesday.
In Butler County, the services has predicted the brunt of the storm to come in the early afternoon after 1 p.m. with snow accumulation estimated between 1 and 3 inches. Winds of about 20 m.p.h. are also expected.
Heading into Wednesday night, before 1 a.m. Thursday, the service forecast more snowfall between 2 and 4 inches with calmer wind conditions.
The service issued a winter storm warning, which will be in effect from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday.
