Bursa Malaysia Bhd’s net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2021 almost doubled to RM121.39 million from RM64.73 million reported in the previous year, largely due to higher operating revenue. The stock exchange operator’s quarterly revenue surged 54.08% to RM232.28 million against RM150.75 million, supported by higher trading revenue in the securities and Islamic market segments.

Kuala Lumpur: Tasco Bhd’s 70 per cent-owned unit, Tasco Yusen Gold Cold Sdn Bhd (TYGC), together with Swift Integrated Logistics Sdn Bhd (SILSB), have proposed to jointly acquire 100 per cent stake in Hypercold Logistics Sdn Bhd for RM21.10 million.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Tasco said both TYGC and SILSB had entered into a conditional share sale agreement with Hypercold today for the proposed acquisition.
Under the agreement, the logistics solutions provider said TYGC and SILSB would each acquire 50 per cent stake in Hypercold for RM10.55 million respectively.

On the rationale for the acquisition, Tasco said the company, through TYGC, had established itself as a prominent cold chain logistics provider in Peninsular Malaysia, however, it has no cold chain logistics presence in Sabah or Sarawak.

Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd (MHB) disclosed today that the value for the engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation, and hook-up and commissioning services (EPCIC) contract secured from SapuraOMV Upstream (Sarawak) Inc is RM1 billion. The duration of the contract in the Jerun gas field, which lies in the SK408W block off the coast of Bintulu, is 40 months. The group had announced the contract awarded to its wholly-owned unit Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE) last Thursday.
