21 Brenda Lee McCullough, director of Installation Management Command (IMCOM)-Readiness, and Command Sgt. Maj. Dan Dennison, IMCOM-Readiness command sergeant major, were greeted by Fort McCoy senior commander and 88th Readiness Division Commanding General Maj. Gen. Darrell Guthrie and Poss at the installation headquarters before a day of briefings and tours of training June 8, 2021, at Fort McCoy, Wis. Fort McCoy’s motto is to be the “Total Force Training Center.” Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin. The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services nearly every year since 1984.

Despite a federal halt on evictions through June 30th, the Texas Supreme Court’s emergency order expired on March 31st. As a result Smith County Precinct 2 Judge Andy Dunklin heard many stories of struggle and need today in court as he resumed eviction hearings today. “We have more apartment complexes than any other precinct. Matter of fact, we have more apartment complexes in this precinct than all the others combined,” Dunklin said.

(WKBT) – A huge milestone is coming up for soldiers at Fort Mccoy. The Army Reserve is celebrating its 113th birthday. The reserve makes up about 20 percent of active soldiers. While we may not think of reserve units that way they do a large amount of the work. Fort Mccoy also does their part by preparing the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who protect us each day. “The bulk of the hundred thousand plus soldiers that come here to train each year are from the Army Reserve,” said Major General Darrell Guthrie.
