DeAri Todd will be heading west to close his college career.
The former Michigan State defensive end and graduate transfer announced his commitment to Montana via Twitter on Wednesday night. Todd entered the portal on April 26 – two days after the Spartans finished spring practice – and never played a snap for the team.
A former three-star recruit from Clearview High School in Ohio, Todd signed with Michigan State’s 2017 recruiting class. He didn’t play while taking a redshirt as a true freshman and didn’t appear in a single game over the following three years but was an Academic All-Big Ten selection each of the last three seasons.

In the search for a new school, Justin Stevens changed his mind.
The former Michigan State offensive lineman announced on April 30 he planned on transferring to Central Michigan but is now committed to South Alabama. In a text message, he said the opportunity is “something I just couldn’t pass up.”
Stevens entered the transfer portal on April 24, the same day Michigan State had its last spring practice.

Damon Kaylor found a new school in his home state.
The former Michigan State offensive lineman announced his commitment to Ball State via Twitter on Monday morning. Kaylor never played a game in two seasons with the Spartans and entered the transfer portal on April 26 – two days after the team finished spring practice.
A former three-star prospect from Huntington North High School in Indiana, Kaylor signed with Michigan State’s 2019 recruiting class. He took a redshirt as a true freshman and didn’t play last season in coach Mel Tucker’s first year leading the program.

It didn’t take Justin Stevens long to pick a new school.
The former Michigan State offensive lineman announced his commitment to Central Michigan on Friday afternoon. He entered the transfer portal on Saturday, the same day the Spartans had their final practice of the spring.
Stevens was one of 11 players who weren’t in uniform for Michigan State’s last spring practice.

Michigan State’s spring attrition has now hit the quarterback room.
Redshirt junior quarterback Theo Day entered his name in the transfer portal on Wednesday. He appeared in only two games for the Spartans and was the fourth quarterback who got snaps during Saturday’s open spring practice, making the outlook for playing time this fall remote.
