DANVILLE, Va. â Danville City Council convened Tuesday evening for the purpose of setting salaries for its three employees.
City Council evaluated the performance of City Manager Ken Larking, City Attorney Wesley Clarke Whitfield Jr. and City Clerk Susan M. DeMasi on the date of Feb. 2, and recommended salaries Feb. 16 based on the results turned from those performance evaluations.
After Councilman Sherman Saunders led the council in prayer for the Danville Utilities worker who was injured Tuesday morning in Pittsylvania County while repairing power lines, the meeting came to order to discuss the brief matter at hand.
The council unanimously set Larking s salary to $190,000, effective March first. The council similarly affirmed Whitfieldâs salary to $145,516.68, effective March 1, and DeMasi s salary to $58,512.39, also effective March 1.

HENRY COUNTY, Va. – Henry County emergency crews are still responding to storm-related incidents days after the weekend winter storm.
