DANVILLE, Va. â On a recommendation from the Danville Utility Commission, the cityâs rate consultant and city staff, Danville City Council approved the adjusting of utility rates for the cityâs utility customers.
Following the completion of a 2021 biennial rate study, proposed adjustments will go into effect on July 1. These changes include net decreases to electric and gas rates. The water and wastewater rate adjustments included will have a neutral impact to customers.Â
A cost of service study determined the rate structures for the next two fiscal years, which will cover the cost of supply and maintenance to utility infrastructure.
