More than 1,000 people attended the museum’s welcome back event that Saturday, which featured Lancaster, Bristol Hercules Halifax and Tiger Moth engine runs.

“Our donations were amazing,” said Dan Fox, the museum’s vice-president.
He estimates donations totalled over $8,500 from the July 24 event.
“That was probably our best event ever” financially, said Fox.
People enjoyed the engine runs and the turret demonstration Fox did, and many visitors toured the Lancaster’s cockpit, said Fox.
“All in all, it was a big success,” he said.
It has been a long 16 months, including six months of being completely shut down, for the Bomber Command Museum, said Fox.
