The fire started on private land July 19, 2020, and the blaze quickly grew to encompass 137 acres. It was early August and Williams, who lives nearby, decided to venture out and get a look at the damage. “I was surprised at how different the landscape looked,” Williams tells EastIdahoNews.com. “The cedar trees and the ground were just black. If you didn’t look over the hill and see the lights of Pocatello, you would’ve thought you were in a different world.”
